PHOENIX - Police have identified a Valley woman who died after she was shot by her husband.
According to police, 21-year-old Sandra Perez was allegedly shot by her husband, Ismael Perez-Barraza, just after 7 p.m. Sunday near 75th Avenue and Indian School Road.
Phoenix police Lt. Michael Rivera said the shooting happened during a family argument.
The 21-year-old victim was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition, but eventually died from her injuries.
Rivera said their 2-month-old baby was unhurt and is with relatives. The couple has been married about 1.5 years.
Perez-Barraza, 23, fled in a green 2006 Nissan Titan and police are now looking for him. Rivera said the Nissan has an Arizona license plate of 520 WCT and a trailer hitch with a Garfield emblem.
Rivera said the suspect was last wearing a black shirt and black pants.
