PHOENIX - Police are looking for the driver of a car who hit a woman in central Phoenix and fled the scene.
They say the woman has life-threatening injuries.
She was hit crossing Indian School Road near 28th Street when a car coming westbound struck her sending her flying toward the sidewalk Friday night.
"I think I recognized her clothes and purse," said witness Darcy Schilling. "It might be my neighbor."
Schilling said it didn't appear that the woman was breathing when fire officials transported her from the scene.
At this point police have little to go on.
They are looking for a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Nissan or Toyota.
