PHOENIX - Police arrested a Phoenix woman Saturday night after she had been driving drunk and crashed her vehicle with two children inside, police said.
After Carla Flanagan, 34, crashed her vehicle near 45th Street and Baseline Road, she fled with her youngest child but left an injured 8-year-old boy at the scene of the crash, according to court documents.
Police said the boy’s injuries were not serious.
Officers found Flanagan hiding under an apartment staircase and arrested her on counts of aggravated DUI, aggravated DUI with a passenger under 15, failure to stay at the scene and endangerment, police said.
Flanagan had been driving on a suspended license, officials reported, and she admitted to drinking four beers prior to getting in the car with the two children.
