PHOENIX - A water main break near 15th Avenue and Dobbins forced one man out of his home and left some residents in the area without water.
Officials told ABC15 the break started on the grounds of the Phoenix Police Academy around 11 a.m. Sunday morning.
Residents at nearby Mountain Gate Mobile Home Park, near 14th Avenue and Dobbins were affected by the break.
One homeowner was forced out of his home because firefighters said the flow of water made the ground underneath his home unstable.
Residents in the area told ABC15 at one point Sunday afternoon, the water was flowing like a "strong river."
Officials said portions of Dobbins Raod from 14th to 19th Avenues were shut down for a period of time due to sediment and debris on the road.
As of late Sunday night, water could be seen flowing from the area around the break, but not as severe as it was earlier in the day.
Crews on the scene are expecting to work late into the night to repair the water main break. They hope to have it fixed Monday morning.
