PHOENIX - Northbound traffic on Interstate 17 is currently backed up for 20 miles near Cordes Junction due to an earlier truck fire, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The commercial vehicle had caught fire around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon, causing initial traffic problems as only one lane was available.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time, according to ADOT. There were no injuries.

ADOT re-closed the right lane late Friday night to remove the truck.
