PHOENIX - The Valley Metro light rail system was down for nearly an hour Thursday afternoon.
The outage started around 1:15 p.m. leaving trains without power for the entire light rail track across the Valley, according to Valley Metro.
The light rail track extends from Main Road and Sycamore in Mesa to 19th Avenue and Bethany Home in Phoenix.
Trains began moving again around 2:10 p.m., said Valley Metro spokesman Susan Tierney.
As of 2:30 p.m., Valley Metro did not know the cause of the outage.
According to the Associated Press, in operation since 2008, the light rail has an average of 45,000 boardings a day.
