PHOENIX - Phoenix Police seized a human skull a Valley man had listed for sale on Craigslist.
Mike Hale tells ABC15 he bought the skull recently at a sale near 35th Avenue and Northern.
"At first, I thought it was a fake," said Hale.
Hale believes it is actually the skull of a person between the ages of 12 to 14.
Shortly after this story appeared on ABC15.com, Phoenix police showed up at Hale's home and seized the skull.
"The skull was taken to the medical examiner's office for obvious reasons," said Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Martos.
Hale purchased the skull for $1 and listed it for sale for $300 on Craigslist , but he has since removed his listing.
Before the skull was seized, Hale says he'd received approximately 20 inquiries from people interested in purchasing the skull.
Hale tells ABC15 he may be able to claim the skull in three days depending on the results of the medical examiner's finding.
