Valley lines up for Verizon’s iPhone

PHOENIX - Thursday was the day Brittney Iadicicco and many other Verizon customers in the Valley had been highly anticipating.

More than 2,000 Verizon stores across the country started selling the iPhone.

Iadicicco was the first to arrive at the Camelback Road and 16th Street store Thursday.

“My roommate told me there were going to be people camping out,” Iadicicco said, while standing second in line.

The ASU student arrived at 3:30 a.m. and read about anatomy and physiology in her warm car.

Iadicicco, a Verizon, customer has been waiting two year to get her hands on an iPhone.

"It’s not just any phone, it’s an iPhone," said one of the people waiting in line.

“We think there is a lot of pent up demand for this device,” said Jenny Weaver, spokesperson for Verizon Wireless.

George Lopez, who was third in line and arrived at 5 a.m., agreed with Weaver.

“I’m a big Mac fan,” Lopez said.

Adding an iPhone to the list of Mac products he already has will make his life easier, he added.
