PHOENIX - For the Valley’s Andrea Salt, appearing as a contestant on Jeopardy is a dream come true.

“I’ve grown up watching jeopardy,”  Andrea explained.

The day she found out she made it she says she celebrated with a lot of jumping up and down and screaming. But her parents held the news back a little.

“They made me finish practicing my flute before they even told me," the Phoenix teen said.

At just 13, Andrea is an avid reader and already a volunteer at the Arizona Science Center.

This was her second attempt to get on the show and she says the test was no joke.

“There was some stuff I knew but I didn’t get it written down in time and some stuff I just didn’t know,” Andrea said.

Her father says he knew if Andrea went after it, she would achieve her goal.

“She just has a wealth of knowledge is where it comes from,” he said.

When it came down to show time she says she wasn’t even nervous.

“All I did was focus!”

So what was her favorite part? Maybe the tough questions, being in front of the audience, perhaps achieving her goal?

“I really liked eating sodas and cupcakes for breakfast,” Andrea said with a big bright smile revealing a mouth of braces.

Well she is 13 after all.

And when asked about the outcome of the show she said, “You’re gonna have to watch and see July 6th on ABC15 at 4:30pm."
