PHOENIX - Police announced Friday morning they have made an arrest in connection to a deadly shooting in west Phoenix.
Daniel Aumiller, 39, was arrested for allegedly shooting a man in the neck near 57th and Campbell Avenues . The shooting occurred around noon on Thursday.
Police said the victim, 48-year-old Alan Pierce, was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died.
According to Sgt. Tommy Thompson of the Phoenix Police Department, Pierce went over to talk to his ex-girlfriend, who was staying at her current boyfriend's house.
When Pierce showed up to the home, Aumiller, the current boyfriend, shot him, according to police. Aumiller fled the scene, but was later found by authorities and taken into custody.
Aumiller was booked into the Maricopa County jail and charged with first degree murder.
