BUCKEYE, AZ - A man wanted for stealing a vehicle and leading police on a chase across the West Valley has been taken into custody and is headed to the hospital.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Raul Garcia confirmed Phoenix police and DPS officers were engaged in a pursuit from Phoenix to the West Valley Friday morning after the suspect stole a Chevrolet work truck.
Air15 footage showed the pursuit coming to an end near MC 85 and Cotton Lane as officers surrounded the truck.
The suspect was removed from the vehicle and subdued by police. Footage showed the man being loaded onto a stretcher and taken from the scene. His current condition is unknown.
Air15 video also showed a police SUV in a ditch alongside the road after reportedly being rammed by the suspect during the chase. It is unclear whether or not any officers were injured in the pursuit.
