PHOENIX - Parking can be a pain at the base of Camelback Mountain as hikers wait and wait to hit the trailhead.
There's word Phoenix may consider using a shuttle service to ferry hikers to and from Camelback Mountain in an effort to ease parking congestion.
The Arizona Republic reports a shuttle-contract is up for recommendation Thursday by the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department board.
Other ideas include expanding nearby parking lots.
Hikers and residents living around Camelback have expressed during public meetings, phone calls and correspondence with city officials that a solution is needed.
Residents have frequently told Phoenix officials they are hampered getting to their homes because of the traffic.
Hikers, what changes would you suggest? Let us know in a comment below.
