PHOENIX - Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested another suspect wanted in connection with a homicide in New Mexico.
Vincent Montoya, 28, turned himself in yesterday after deputies tracked down the second suspect, Sarah Martinez.
On Wednesday, police received word that Martinez may have been hiding in a Motel 6 in Phoenix near 23rd Avenue and Bell Road.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team responded to the call and Martinez was arrested in one of the hotel rooms.
The Sheriff announced that during the motel arrests, two other women in the room were taken into custody for harboring a felon, but were later released.
Authorities in New Mexico say that they had reason to believe the two suspects were going to flee to Mexico.
As of right now, both suspects are awaiting extradition back to New Mexico.
One suspect in the murder case is still outstanding.
