PHOENIX - A Scottsdale man accused of killing his two sons in 2010 was in court Monday morning.
Police said Andre Leteve is believed to have shot and killed his sons and then turned the gun on himself.
He shot himself in the mouth but survived, police said.
Leteve was scheduled to be at the Maricopa County Superior Court at 10:30 a.m., facing first degree murder charges.
The incident happened around 8 a.m. on March 31, 2010, south of Indian Bend Road, just west of Hayden Road.
He later called 911 to report the incident and reportedly admitted to shooting his children.
“What’s going on?” asked the 911 operator.
“I shot and killed my sons and shot myself,” Leteve is heard saying on the 911 tape.
“You did what?” the operator asked.
“I shot and killed my sons,” Leteve is heard saying.
Scottsdale police officers arrived at the home and found the two boys deceased.
Friends of the family said Leteve and his wife were going through a “bitter” divorce.
