Romney, Santorum spar ahead of Arizona primary

PHOENIX - Voters are getting quite a show before they hit the ballot box for Tuesday's primary.

Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney are trading jabs furiously.

Santorum mocked Romney for claiming he is "resolute."

"Maybe he doesn't understand what the term resolute means," sparred Santorum. "But it means you're supposed to have sort of a resolve, a consistent pattern of beliefs."

Romney jabbed back as he criticized some of Santorum's votes while in Congress.

"He said he did it to take one for the team," referring to Santorum's vote against an auto-bailout. "But my team is the people of Michigan and of America and I'm going to fight for you," said Romney.

Romney also voted against the automotive bailout.

The tough talk comes as Santorum's lead slips further. In fact, a Gallup Poll shows Santorum has lost 10 points to Romney in just one week.

Meanwhile, Santorum is defending his comments after calling President Obama a "snob" for wanting all Americans to go to college.

Mitt Romney might have to play defense, as well.

He failed to make friends at NASCAR after he was asked whether he follows the sport.

"Not as closely as some of the most ardent fans," said Romney. "But I have some great friends that are NASCAR team owners."

After last week's CNN debate in Mesa , Governor Jan Brewer has endorsed Romney .
