PHOENIX - Just moments after Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu announced the end of his congressional campaign, ABC15 caught up with him to talk about his decision.
Babeu sent an email around 4 a.m. Friday to his supporters, announcing that he's ending his run for Congress and seeking reelection in Pinal County instead.
His reasons can be found in the full email in an ABC15.com article.
During the interview, Babeu touched on the hurdles he faced during the campaign.
"This has been a whirlwind. Never did I expect this measure of not just confrontation but the personal attacks," Babeu told ABC15. "My personal life shouldn't matter."
ABC15's Kirk Yuhnke asked the questions as Kimberly Cheng caught all of it on tape around 6 a.m. in Phoenix.
