PHOENIX - Senator John McCain visited the ABC15 studios to talk about why he believes Mitt Romney won Wednesday night's presidential debate.
“There’s no doubt that Governor Romney did a great job last night,” McCain said. “I think it’s pretty clear that the president was not well-prepared.”
President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee Romney squared off at the University of Denver for the first televised presidential debate of this campaign season.
Based on analysts, reports, polls, and social media posts during and immediately after the debate, Romney appeared to come out as the "winner."
“But don’t underestimate Barack Obama in the next debate,” McCain said. “He’s a very smart man and an excellent debater.”
McCain also briefly talked about the tragic death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Nicholas Ivie, as well as border security.
