PHOENIX - The President will give his second State of the Union Address Tuesday night and jobs will be at the top of the list.
The unemployment number for the country and Arizona are the same, just under 8% and said to be improving.
But don't tell that to the dozens of people crowding the Goodwill Career Center in the west Valley like Scott Cirincione.
"It's a little frustrating because I've been looking for so long," said Scott. He's been looking for a job in cooking or landscaping for six months and at this point would like to just talk to a live person on the other end of the application. "So much of it is done by email, you never get a chance to get a response or feedback from anyone."
The Goodwill Career Centers stationed across the Valley in 40 plus locations help job seekers with everything from resume writing, interview skills to simply having a positive attitude. "Many employers will train for skills but you have to have a good, positive attitude first," said Career Center Director Kimbler Hall.
She says Valley Goodwill Career Centers helped connect people to more than 15,000 jobs last year. "You hear people say there are no jobs out there, but I can tell you there are jobs in the Valley."
Scott is hoping his turn to make it off the 8% unemployment list is right around the corner.
