PHOENIX - A pickup truck struck a pedestrian in Phoenix Friday night, killing him, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Police said that Friday night, just before 10 p.m., 59 year-old James R. Carey was crossing the street near 24th Street and Indian School Road in Phoenix when the driver of a Nissan pickup truck struck him.

Carey was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police said impairment was not a factor and no charges have been made.
