PHOENIX - A woman is in extremely critical condition after she was shot inside a Phoenix apartment Thursday morning.

Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson said two women and two teenagers were in separate bedrooms in the apartment near 33rd and Northern avenues when a suspect fired multiple shots through a window around 5:15 a.m.

One of the two women was struck and is in extremely critical condition at a local hospital. Thompson said she is 25 years old.

Thompson described the suspect as a black male who possibly left in a Toyota Tundra pickup truck.

No one else was hurt.

There was no immediate word on a motive for the shooting.
