PHOENIX - Phoenix police have identified a woman who was found dead in an alley Sunday morning.

Police said the woman had obvious signs of trauma to her body and appeared to be the victim of a homicide.

Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump said the victim has been identified as 21-year-old Jessica Vidal.

Police discovered Vidal's body near 38th Lane and Monte Vista while they were on a check welfare call.

Police have little information to go on in this case. A witness told police they saw a black four-door sedan in the area where the body was found.
