PHOENIX - A hiker requiring medical treatment was lifted off Piestewa Peak in Phoenix by a Fire Department helicopter Friday morning.
Fire Capt. Jonathan Jacobs says the woman was lifted off the mountain by the helicopter's hoist because of the steep and rugged terrain.
Jacobs says the woman fell and was injured after experiencing a medical problem while hiking the trail.
Jacobs says the woman was taken to a hospital for treatment.
