PHOENIX - How easy is it to get the weight of a giant tortoise? It takes time and patience.
It took nearly a dozen Phoenix Zoo staff and volunteers to get six tortoises to step up onto the scale. Their final weight: 1,949-pounds.
Paula Swanson, reptile manager at the Phoenix Zoo, led the team.
