PHOENIX - Friends and family of a Phoenix lawyer who died from gunshot wounds in an office shooting remember him as good man who was always professional.
A memorial service for Mark Hummels was held Tuesday evening at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Phoenix.
The 43-year-old Hummels was the second of three people hit by gunfire to die from the Jan. 30 attack.
Colleagues say Hummels was a rising star in his profession and dedicated to his wife, 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son.
He worked with the Phoenix law firm Osborn Maledon and focused on business disputes, real estate litigation and malpractice defense.
Hummels was a reporter for the Albuquerque Journal and Santa Fe New Mexican before he left to go to law school in 2001. He graduated first in his class.
