PHOENIX - The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department announced that they will remain open on weekends in August, despite the fact school will be back in session.
The nine pools that will remain open are David C. Uribe, El Prado, Encanto, Flacon, Maryvale, Paradise Valley, Pecos, Perry and Sunnyslope.
August weekend hours will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. through Labor Day.
The weekend pool openings were included in a City Council budget approval for the 2012-2013 fiscal year.
