PHOENIX - Police say a 7-year-old boy who went missing Tuesday afternoon has been found safe at a nearby apartment playing video games.

According to Phoenix police, Kaiser Arias Xochihua was last seen outside his family's apartment near 27th Avenue and West Butler Drive around 4 p.m.

Sgt. Trent Crump said the boy's father called police when he hadn't returned  home by 10 p.m. last night.

Police said the man was impaired when he called police and said it was common for the boy to stay with others. But when Kaiser hadn't returned by mid-morning they renewed their search using reverse 9-1-1 to contact people living in the apartment complex.

They printed up flyers and went door to door with volunteers looking for the boy. Reportedly, the FBI was also involved with finding the child.

Crump said the boy was found with friends about a mile and a half away from his home.
