PHOENIX - Police have identified a man arrested Wednesday with an explosive device near a Phoenix school.

Lamar James Toledo, 50, was arrested in the area of Camelback Road and 39th Avenue after police found he had drugs and a firecracker with a fragment attached to it.

The scene was near Alhambra High School.

Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump said an apartment resident called police asking for help with a trespasser and drugs were found on Toledo.

Among his personal belongings police found the explosive device and called for a lockdown at a nearby school.

Toledo was booked into jail on drug and weapon charges.
