PHOENIX - Phoenix police arrested a woman on August 23 on suspicion of stealing rent money from various tenants across the Phoenix area.
Police said Cary Dell Franco, 33, was arrested on suspicion of forgery and theft. She had been stealing money from different renters in the Phoenix area since December 2011.
Authorities said unfortunately, Franco is not the only person suspected of stealing rent.
Each month, victims come forward who have had their rent check or money order stolen from drop boxes or drop slots in doors where renters are supposed to leave their money.
Police said that many times, these slots are forced open, allowing thieves to steal the money.
In some cases, some tenants have been evicted because of failure to pay rent.
