Phoenix motorcycle officer dragged by car

PHOENIX, AZ - Eastbound I-10 was backed up for miles Tuesday night after an officer was dragged by a car.
Phoenix police spokesman James Holmes said around 5 p.m., the officer pulled over an SUV near 32nd Street and the eastbound 1-10.
When the officer approached the vehicle, the male driver put the vehicle in drive and took off.
The officer's hand and arm got caught in the vehicle and he was dragged for a short distance.
Police are still searching for the suspect's vehicle which fled eastbound.
Holmes said the officer was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The officer was released later in the evening with pain to his hand but no further injuries, Holmes said Wednesday morning.
