PHOENIX - Authorities say a Phoenix man has been arrested in the death of his infant son.
Police say 20-year-old Francisco Hernandez Sr. was booked into jail Thursday night on one count of first-degree murder and one count of child abuse.
Phoenix Fire and police were called out to a home early Monday and found 3-month-old Francisco Hernandez Jr. unresponsive. The baby was rushed to a hospital where medical personnel say the child displayed signs of shaken baby syndrome and had severe bleeding in the brain. The baby died Wednesday.
Detectives interviewed the father who they say admitted to shaking the child early Monday when the baby wouldn't stop crying.
Police say Hernandez and the child's mother have been separated for a month and she wasn't present at the time of the incident.
