PHOENIX - North Phoenix apartments were evacuated Monday afternoon while crews worked to repair a gas leak.
Phoenix Fire Captain Jonathan Jacobs said fire crews and members of the Southwest Gas company worked together to fix the leak near 19th Avenue and Ocotillo Road.
Officials said nearby apartments were evacuated as a precaution.
Construction crews broke a 2.5 inch hole into a material gas line. Jacobs said the leak was located in a hole in the street.
