PHOENIX - Police say a homeowner shot and injured a suspect who allegedly broke into his home on Monday.
Phoenix police say three men tried to burglarize the home near 86th Avenue and Camelback Road just after 9 a.m.
The homeowner heard the suspects and grabbed a shotgun and confronted them.
Police say at least one round was fired and one of the men was shot in the leg.
The suspects fled in a vehicle which was spotted by officers and stopped near 75th and Glendale avenues where they were taken into custody.
Police say the suspect who was shot has a minor injury to his leg, possibly from a pellet from the shotgun.
Neither the homeowner nor his wife was injured.
