PHOENIX - Police say a car hit a man walking across a Phoenix street Wednesday morning, leaving him seriously hurt.
The crash happened around 5 a.m. on 59th Avenue near McDowell Road.
Phoenix police told an ABC15 crew on scene that the driver involved was a woman on her way to work, heading southbound on 59th Avenue.
The woman told ABC15 that the man came out of nowhere. She is shaken up but physically OK.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, and his condition is unknown.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area during the morning commute.
