PHOENIX - Phoenix police say a 21-year-old pregnant woman was found dead inside a north Phoenix apartment Wednesday.

Police told ABC15 they were investigating a small fire inside the unit at the Saratoga Ridge Apartment complex near 14th Street and Bell Road when they found the woman.

"I heard the fire alarm," said neighbor Jason Dias.

Dias said other tenants were acting very calm.

"I assumed it was nothing," he said.

Authorities said the woman's family told them she was eight months pregnant. She also has a 2-year-old child.

Police are investigating this as a homicide. There is no suspect at this time.
