PHOENIX - Two people have been arrested on sex trafficking charges involving a 15-year-old girl, police said.
Sgt. Steve Martos of the Phoenix Police Department said 18-year-old Kiana Clark befriended the teenager and then forced her into prostitution involving a 27-year-old man.
Clark and the teenager met on a social networking site, according to police, and Clark convinced the teenager to meet at a hotel near 7th Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix.
The victim was introduced to 27-year-old Marquel Watson and instructed to take photos, which were placed in various online ads, said Martos.
Over the next two days, both Clark and the teenager, were involved in "acts of prostitution," according to police. The proceeds were then given to Watson.
On Thursday, June 20, the victim called her family from a fast food restaurant near Peoria and 35th Avenues and said she was being "held against her will," said Martos.
When interviewed, both suspects made incriminating statements and were booked into jail.
Clark has been booked on counts of sex trafficking and possession of dangerous drugs.
Watson has been booked on two counts of sex trafficking.
