PHOENIX - Friends and family welcomed home 24 soldiers of the 160th Finance Detachment of the Arizona National Guard on Sunday.

They finished their mission at the 52nd St. Armory in Phoenix.

The troops were originally supposed to arrive Saturday, but their flight was delayed by weather.

The Director of the Arizona Army National Guard, Army Col. Matthew J. Brown, presided over the homecoming ceremony.

The Phoenix-based soldiers were deployed to Kosovo in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

The deployment marked the second time the 160th has mobilized for the Global War on Terrorism.

The mission for the 160th was to provide financial management support to war fighters and military communities.

As part of their duties, they also took part in funding Army, Joint, and Combined operations, providing timely commercial vendor and contract payments, pay and disbursing services, banking and currency services, and limited accounting on an area basis.

They were deployed in Kosovo for nine months after three months of training.
