PHOENIX - Valley residents getting out of town this Labor Day weekend are dealing with a lot of traffic and high gas prices.

AAA Arizona says Friday night rush hour will be busiest time on roadways.

In order to avoid the masses, they recommend leaving as early as possible Friday.

AAA predicts out of the 674,000 Arizonans traveling this weekend, 564,000 will be driving.

They say most folks are heading to Northern Arizona to escape the heat or to Southern California, which means Interstates 10 and 17 will be very busy.

The cost of gas is surging right now because of Isaac, which is leading to record high prices in Arizona.

The state is averaging $3.63 per gallon, but many Valley locations are offering cheaper prices.

ABC15 wants to help you find the cheapest gas across the state. Here's a website to check before heading out.
