According to HLNtv.com , the next witness called by Arias' defense team could be domestic violence expert Alyce LaViolette .
LaViolette began working with female victims of domestic abuse in 1978. She has also published several books and articles, as well as developed training programs that deal with domestic violence.
HLNtv.com reports that testimony by LaViolette could support Arias' claim that she was in an abusive relationship with ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander.
Arias has claimed she killed Alexander in self defense. Authorities say she planned the 2008 attack at Alexander's Mesa home in a jealous rage.
Arias last week was grilled with more than 200 questions from jurors, who wanted answers about her alleged memory problems and string of lies in the case.
