PHOENIX - Three people were injured in a head-on crash that closed westbound Interstate 10 for several hours in west Phoenix Wednesday.
Bart Graves with the Arizona Department of Public Safety said a woman and a 6-year-old girl were in a Honda sedan on eastbound I-10 near 64th Avenue when the woman was cut off by another driver just after 10 a.m.
She swerved to avoid the car and lost control of her vehicle, Graves said.
She reportedly crossed the cable barriers and hit a Ford pickup truck head-on going westbound.
The woman in the Honda was transported with life threatening injuries to Banner Good Samaritan hospital.
Graves said the girl has a broken arm and was transported to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
The man in the Ford was taken to St. Joseph’s hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Westbound lanes from 59th to 69th Avenue were closed but reopened around 1 p.m., Graves said.
