PHOENIX - A high pollution advisory for unhealthy ozone levels is in effect Friday in the Phoenix area.

Air-quality official say they expect ozone will be trapped in the metro area's air because of air flow associated with thunderstorms forming over mountains in eastern Arizona.

The advisory recommends that people reduce driving, avoid idling their vehicles and consider delaying large paint projects.

The general public is being advised to limit outdoor activity during the day, with children and adults with respiratory problems avoiding outdoor activities.

Also, Maricopa County will enforce "no burn" restrictions that include a prohibition on open burning.
