PHOENIX - Helping the hungry is now as easy as eating breakfast.

The Arizona Harley-Davidson Owners Group and Waffle House are teaming up to help St. Mary's Food Bank alliance.

HOG chapters in Arizona are collecting non-perishable food items to stock the shelves at St. Mary's.

To expand the reach of the project, collection bins have been placed inside Valley Waffle House locations.

Customers who bring in five cans of food or more will receive 10% off their meal.

The food collected through October 8th will help build 40,000 emergency food boxes that St. Mary's distributes each month.

Last year, the food drive collected 15,000 food items, which amounted to more than 8,000 pounds.

Organizers are hoping to top that during this year's food drive.

Food items can also be dropped off at area Harley-Davidson locations.

On October 17th, this year's winning HOG chapter will ride through the Valley in a "convoy," collecting all donations from drop-off locations.

St. Mary's provides enough food for more than 200,000 meals each day, which means food drives are a very important means of support.
