PHOENIX - Authorities say a pickup truck ran a red light Sunday morning in Phoenix, ending in a four-vehicle crash.
It happened just before 8 a.m. on the northbound Interstate 17 frontage at Buckeye Road, according to Cpt. Scott Walker with the Phoenix Fire Department, who added that impairment does not seem to be a factor.
Walker says a white pickup truck with a camper shell ran the red light and hit a gold pickup truck. The gold pickup then rolled after pushing into a black pickup truck.
The tailgate from the gold pickup came off and hit the windshield of a minivan, he said.
Walker says five people were taken to a nearby hospital.
It’s unclear how serious the injuries are at this time.
Walker says the driver of the white pickup truck will be cited for running the red light.
