PHOENIX - Authorities say a person was injured while checking on drivers of other vehicles in a multi-vehicle accident in West Phoenix.
Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Larry Nunez said the three-vehicle rear-end accident happened at 83rd Avenue and Thomas Road early Monday morning.
Nunez said one of the drivers got out to check on other people involved in the crash and that driver was struck by a vehicle. Nunez said the victim was unresponsive at the scene.
Around 8:30 p.m. Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump said the victim's injuries were not life-threatening.
There was no immediate word on injuries to others involved in the crash, or how the accident happened.
