PHOENIX - Police say a man was shot and killed during a drug deal in central Phoenix Thursday.
The shooting happened around 4 p.m. near 19th and Missouri avenues.
Phoenix police said two men were meeting a third to exchange drugs for money and when the third man pulled out the drugs, one of the other two men pulled out a gun.
The man with the drugs reportedly also pulled out a weapon and shot one of the first two men. The man's friend grabbed the drugs and left the injured man at the scene, police said.
Police said the man who pulled the trigger stayed behind to perform CPR on the victim.
Phoenix fire spokesman Scott Walker said the male victim was shot in the chest and was not breathing when paramedics arrived.
The victim later died from his injuries.
