PHOENIX - The Echo Canyon trail on Camelback Mountain will be closed starting Monday until next fall. A major renovation project will be underway.
The parking lot will be expanded to 132 spaces. That's nearly double the current size.
A permanent restroom will be installed. Improvements will also be made on the trail.
A roundabout will be created in the parking lot entrance and a separate entrance will be built for neighboring homes.
The projects costs $3 million.
Officials will be available to answer questions at the Echo Canyon trail recreation center Friday at 1:30 p.m.
