PHOENIX - A dormitory room at Arizona State University's downtown Phoenix campus has been treated for a bed-bug infestation.
A campus spokesman says the room was on the fifth floor of Tower 2 at the Taylor Place dormitories.
The room underwent a five-hour insecticide treatment Monday after pest-control specialists confirmed the presence of bed bugs.
The two students living in the room were moved during the treatment, but returned afterward.
The apple seed-sized bugs feed by sucking blood from humans and animals and can be spread through contaminated clothing and furniture.
The Arizona Republic says pest control specialists advised the university that the two students not be moved to another room to avoid spreading the bugs to other portions of the building.
