PHOENIX - A stretch of Interstate 10 in Phoenix has been reopened following a deadly crash Saturday morning.
Arizona Department of Transportation spokesman Garin Groff said the crash forced the closure of eastbound I-10 at the Loop 202 Santan Freeway for several hours Saturday. The roadway was reopened around noon.
All traffic from the Phoenix area toward Casa Grande had to be detoured to eastbound Loop 202 as ADOT and Department of Public Safety teams responded to the wreck.
DPS officials say the crash involved one vehicle. The driver survived but the passenger was killed.
The cause of the crash has not been determined.
