PHOENIX - A 10-year-old boy is in critical condition after being pulled from a back yard pool during a birthday party Saturday afternoon.
The Phoenix Fire Department said there were six children in the pool, and that the boy was not a good swimmer.
The child had been using floaties, but kept taking them off.
His parents were in the home, located near 31st Avenue and Bell Road, monitoring from the window according to the Phoenix FD.
The boy had been in the water for eight minutes before being pulled out by the other kids.
Firefighters said no one knew CPR, and that live-saving measures weren't performed until paramedics arrived.
The boy's uncle told ABC15 that doctors were able to get his heart beating again, and that they aren't yet sure what damage was done to his brain.
