PHOENIX - A state lawsuit has been filed against a Tempe-based air conditioning and heating company over its telephone solicitation practices.
Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne said Wednesday that officials have requested a temporary restraining order, permanent injunction, and civil penalties against Abode Air, LLC.
The Attorney General's Office and Better Business Bureau say they have received hundreds of complaints regarding the company's solicitation practices, including many from senior citizens.
According to the BBB website, the company holds an "F" rating with 291 complaints in the last 3 years including 199 advertising and sales issues.
But a managing member for Abode Air tells The Arizona Republic that the complaints come from consumers who mistakenly believe they're on the national do-not-call registry.
