PHOENIX - Kelly Conry, a mother of two, has had to deal with bullying issues. She knows firsthand, kids don't alway report what they see.
"I think they have a fear of children themselves...of backlash," she said.
Fear of that backlash prompted Cecil Jackson, a Phoenix Police Department School Resource Officer, to start AlertRecall.com .
"A lot of kids know what's going on before administrators and parents know about [it]," Jackson said.
The website allows students and parents to report crimes via email or text on a cellphone. Jackson says tips can include bullying, threats, drug use, gang fights, and even murder.
"If it's something really bad, let us tell somebody without [the] peer pressure of 'Oh, I'm a snitch,'" Jackson said.
According to Jackson, roughly 100 volunteer police officers monitor the messages and follow up. Warnings are posted in a section on the website so parents can learn what trends are occurring each year.
Conry has just learned of the website and says it's another tool to help concerned parents like her.
"I look at their own Facebook page. I know their friends. I really talk a lot to my children," Conry said.
